Over the past week I've been seeing a new tactic by spammers that I wanted to alert the community here about, which is that some group of spammers is making posts that - look - like regular player posts, talking about some system in-game or topic related to LOTRO, but then inserting URLs to scam/spam sites either visibly or semi-visibly into their posts. I suspect they are copying old LOTRO poster text, adding their spam links, then making their post in an attempt to avoid detection. If you see a weird link in a post, something like "buy cars online" or something, but the rest of the post seems LOTRO-related, that's probably one of them. I've also seen them quote a poster then insert the spam link into the quote.

Just a heads up to please keep reporting these spammers when you see them, and to of course never follow their links.
